30 Years of Organic Roots

I spent 19 years in marketing at Straus Family Creamery. I started in field marketing, leading a team of in-store merchandisers, then moved into brand marketing in 2010 and spent 16 years as Marketing Manager. I worked closely with the founder, and I was the walking brand archive. New hires got my name on day one, and “ask Liz” covered most questions about Straus’s history and how we do things.

My days covered brand, PR, social, packaging, trade shows, sponsorships, and in-house design. Whatever the plan was, I made sure it got done, on time and on brand.

What I loved most was listening. I spent years paying attention to what Straus fans were saying and what they wanted, and I got to know that consumer well. That kind of attention is how one customer’s TikTok videos turned into coverage from ABC7 News, The Press Democrat, and Yahoo Life. The small stuff mattered too: a note of thanks, a T-shirt sent to a super fan, a long spoon that finally fit our narrow milk bottle.

After 30 years in CPG marketing, I’ve learned that good marketing starts with paying attention to people. I’m a connector at heart, and I bring that same approach to every brand I work with.

I also work alongside my husband John on Hollywood Table, his venture pairing celebrity chefs with senior living communities.
